Contractor Registration and Permit Guidelines

Contractor’s Registrations

All contractors must register with the Borough prior to the start of working in the Borough unless an emergency repair is needed, then you have 5 days to do so.
All contractors must pay $100 license fee to work in the Borough unless they are doing general construction residential work or service work.
All contractors must submit Certificates of Insurance with the Borough as the holder, this includes the state required worker’s compensation insurance.
All residential contractors must provide a copy of a valid PAHIC.

Permits

All permitted work must be applied for, paid, and approved prior to onset of work with the placard posted in front window of building. All permits must be submitted with a sign copy of the contract between owner, or agent, and contractor unless being done by the owner. Permits may require drawings or signed and sealed drawings, please contact the BCO for requirements. Any permits that require a plan review may be subject to additional fees and or an escrow account.

Residential Permits – there is a $50 application fee which must be submitted with the application.
Commercial Permits – there is a $100 application fee which must be submitted with the application.

Once approved the balance will be due when the permit is ready for pick up. The permit placard must be placed in a visible place (example: in front window) prior to the onset of work.

Please note that the permit processing time does not start until all required items are submitted.
